Consulting in Handwriting Psychology www.grafologi.nu Home > How does
the handwriting reflect a person's character / attitude ?
Handwriting
is a part of the body language. It is built of fine hand movements that
have frozen in time. All body movements are controlled by the brain, which
as well contains our feelings and thoughts. Feelings and thoughts affect
body's movements (the connection: movement - feeling - thinking, that is
to say, motoric activity - emotion - cognition in neurophysiology and psychology)
the interaction of which results in different expression forms. One of
these forms is brought about by the use of a writing tool on a suitable
surface. This expression form is very personal and it is difficult to imitate
it. It is thereefore graphology is considered to be a branch of expression
psychology. The science is called handwriting psychology. [Expression psychology
could be simplified in this form: expression = movements, psychology =
emotions and thoughts].
Graphology
as a science - Handwriting psychology
The science
of graphlogy is based on research and statistics. Theree have been a lot
of research works that dealt with its different aspects, including its
validity and reliability. At university libraries in Sweden theree is more
than sixty graphology titles. Among the graphologers who participated in
the development of graphology in Sweden theree is: Dr. Fritz Warburg, psychologist
Lennart Bergstrom, Dr. Bengt Paul and Gustaf Lundgren. Among textbook writers
theree is: Hermann Seichter and Bruno Strandberg. Teut Wallner's validity
research works in handwriting psychology have got a wide international
respect.
What can
graphology bring about ?
Graphology
explores person's attitude, the real personality, the capacity, the social
values, the temperament and the interaction between all of these. It also
shows if the person has technical or social gifts and leadership talents.
"Neuroleptics are being administrated in different places in Europe after a standard handwriting test". ( Teut Wallner : Fran grafologi till skriftpsykologi, Seminarium utbildning & forlag, Jonkoping - Sweden, 1994 ) |
